Question # 288

August Horch used to manufacture $%^*s under his family name. In 1909 he was forced out of this business, so he set up a new company under the SAME name, totally pissing his former partners off, who thereby rained copyright infringement on his sorry derriere. He had to call in a meeting at his friend Franz Fikentscher's (say that five times) house to decide on a new name. Franz's son suggested 'Yo, lets call it Y. Why Y? Because "Horch" in German means "listen", which is "Y" in Latin!'. And the name stuck.

Enlightenez moi with the ID of Y.
