Question # 62

The origins of 'U' can be traced back to a fraternal order of knights called the 'Order of the Dragon', formed by Sigismund of Luxembourg (king of Hungary, Croatia, Bohemia and the Holy Roman empire) to uphold Christanity and to defend the empire against the Ottoman Turks. Vlad II, father of Vlad III, was admitted to the order in 1431 for his bravery in fighting the Turks, and was dubbed 'W' (dragon), therefore, his son came to be known as 'U' (son of the dragon).
ID 'U'.

  1. Answer is Dracula. I've always sympathized with this wonderful character but the real life Dracula,Vlad Dracul or Vlad The Impaler has perpetrated atrocities which could be considered unpardonable though. That guy was a serious c#@ks%*ker.
